FARGO (KFGO) – A police pursuit and rollover crash injured three people early Friday morning in Fargo. The driver was arrested and is expected to be charged with multiple felonies.
On Nov. 24, shortly after 4 a.m., police spotted an SUV driving recklessly in the 3300 block of 13th Avenue S.
As the SUV entered Interstate 29, an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the SUV fled northbound on the interstate.
A short time later, dispatchers received multiple 911 calls of a rollover crash at 12th Avenue North and I-29.
Officers arriving on the scene found the SUV had left the road and rolled in the ditch.
A witness to the crash told police the driver fled the vehicle and was running north.
The driver of the SUV, 31-year-old Bobby James of Fargo, was taken into custody nearby.
James, and two female passengers who were inside the SUV at the time of the crash, were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a preliminary crash report, law enforcement believes the SUV struck a concrete median while traveling northbound near the 12th Avenue North exit ramp. The vehicle then struck the curb on the westbound lanes of the avenue, went airborne, and then descended down a steep embankment into the ditch, before rolling over.
James was arrested for felony fleeing a police officer in a vehicle, two counts of felony reckless endangerment, refusal to haul, driving under suspension, and other outstanding warrants.
