2 injured in Ottertail two-vehicle crash

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 78 near Ottertail on Tuesday afternoon.

On Sept. 12 at 12:45 p.m., a 2000 Honda Accord, driven by 46-year-old Cody Andrew Jyrkas of Ottertail, was northbound on Highway 78 when it collided with a northbound 2018 Honda Civic, driven by 17-year-old Elizabeth Kianna Jackson of New York Mills, at the Willow Road intersection near Otter Tail Lake.

Both Jyrkas and Jackson both suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the crash, but only Jackson required a medical transport to Perham Hospital for continued treatment of unknown injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and law enforcement believes alcohol did not play a role in the incident.
