Victim identified in rural Parkers Prairie bull attack

Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – The victim’s name has been released in the fatal bull attack in rural Parkers Prairie on Saturday evening.

64-year-old Jerry Altman of Parkers Prairie was attacked by a bull at a residence west of the city of Parkers Prairie in Effington Township.

Law enforcement responded to the scene and euthanized the bull in order to perform life saving measures on Altman, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported and the incident remains under an active investigation by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
