Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – A Minnesota State University Moorhead student was crowned Miss Minnesota on Friday after she beat out 26 contestants to receive Minnesota’s highest pageant honor.
22-year-old Angelina Amerigo is a presidential honors student at the college and majoring in Public Relations and Advertising with the goal of earning a master’s degree in brand marketing and supply chain management.
Following the competition, Amerigo expressed her gratitude, shock and excitement on social media, but seemed at a loss for words.
In the post, Amerigo said: “Until I can find all the right words to express how I am feeling … all I can think of is ‘THANK YOU.’”
Amerigo will travel across the state to official events with her new honor as she prepares to represent Minnesota in the 2024 Miss America competition.
