Assault leaves 1 dead of multiple stab wounds in Bemidji; multiple arrests made

Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – One man was killed in a stabbing that occurred in Bemidji early Saturday morning.

According to the Bemidji Police Department, on June 24 at 3:30 a.m., emergency dispatchers received a report of an assault in-progress on the 1800 block of Minnesota Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located several witnesses and a deceased male that had incurred multiple stab wounds.

Witnesses provided the officers with descriptions and information about the alleged assailants.

Using the information obtained at the scene, members of the Headwaters SWAT team served a search warrant on nearby residence and arrested, or detained, several people at the residence for questioning.

Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin said his department believes there is no on-going threat to the public and the identities of the suspects will be made public once their investigation is complete.
