Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced they will be hosting an online auction in July to sell off more than 260 acres of rural and lakefront land located in Clearwater, Itasca and Wadena Counties.
According to a news release from the agency, the annual land sales help the MN DNR refine its land holdings and meet its responsibility to maximize recreational, conservation, and economic opportunities.
The agency also said selling land allows the DNR to remove land from its portfolio that is no longer meeting primary management objectives. Depending on the type of land sold, revenue from sales may go to the School Trust or provide funds to allow the DNR to invest in other, high priority acquisitions.
The online auction runs from July 10-24 through Minnesota’s surplus services online auction site: minnbid.org.
Bidders must pre-register to participate in the auction through minnbid.org.
To view a complete list of the land parcels and to view a map of the locations, visit the DNR land sale webpage.
The news release also stated the MN DNR plans to sell additional land this fall and attendees of the Minnesota State Fair should stop by the lands and minerals theatre to pick up the fall property sale list.
More detailed property information will be made available 30 days before the next auction.
