Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum released a suspiciously presidential campaign-style ad to YouTube on Monday morning.

Burgum has been linked to a possible run for president during the 2024 election cycle by multiple media outlets and the tenor of the new online ad promotes Burgum’s business acumen and conservative record as governor of North Dakota.

“I ignored those who said North Dakota was too small, too cold and too remote to build a worldclass software company,” said Burgum, in the advertisement. “So I literally bet the farm to build a tiny startup into a billion-dollar company with customers in 132 countries.”

Burgum is expected announce his presidential run in coming days and, with it, he will join former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott in the increasingly crowded race for the GOP’s presidential nomination.

“Anger, yelling, in-fighting, that’s not going to cut it anymore, let’s get things done” Burgum said, in the advertisement. “It’ll work. And in that tiny town where I grew up, you didn’t promise things you couldn’t deliver.”

According to CNN-sponsored survey of 476 registered voters conducted by SSRS Research in mid-May, Burgum is currently sitting at 1% support for president with Trump garnering a majority of the GOP’s support with 53% and Gov. Ron DeSantis coming in second place with 26%.
