Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two men and a juvenile in connection to a series of burglaries and thefts that occurred near Fergus Falls, Swan Lake and Wall Lake areas.
In a May 11 Facebook post, Otter Tail County Sheriff Barry Fitzgibbons said the thieves committed or attempted to commit 28 burglaries at the end of April and beginning of May and targeted garages and vehicles.
19-year-old Jackson Rieppel, of Rural Fergus Falls, 18-year-old Jeremiah Nordby, of Fergus Falls, and a 17-year-old Fergus Falls juvenile were all arrested for the thefts, but investigators expect more people to be charged in coming days.
Fitzgibbons said the arrests were a result of a joint investigation with the Fergus Falls Police Department.
“Due to the great teamwork of officers from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office and the Fergus Falls Police Department, 3 individuals were arrested in connection to 28 thefts/burglaries in Fergus Falls and Rural Fergus Falls,” said Fitzgibbons, in the post. “This is a great example of the dedicated and well trained professional law enforcement in Otter Tail County”
