Pam Ehnert, won one of five national awards that recognize inspirational school employees that promote quality education, foster safe and positive learning environments and ensure student success.

Ehnert is a member and advocate for the Minnesota School Employees Association.

One of Ehnert’s co-workers said QUOTE: “I wouldn’t be involved in our union if it wasn’t for Pam. She has taught me so much over the years and really encourages younger, new staff to be involved in our union … She leads by example every day.”

Ehnert was the winner of the 2022 Sue Ezell Leadership Award (SELA), which is presented to one Minnesotan each year and is the highest award given out by the Minnesota School Employees Association.

There are more than 2.8 million educational support employees in our nation’s public schools, colleges and universities, and they make up one-third of the public education workforce, according to the organization’s website.
