Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Snap Fitness location in Detroit Lakes, owned by Robert Strand, has been selected as the company’s 2022 Transformation Award winner.
Strand was one of four nominees for the award, along with the owners of clubs in St. Joseph and Spring Park, MN, and Harborcreek, PA.
The award recognizes a facility that has remodeled, upgraded equipment, and gained membership and revenue from the previous year.
Strand took ownership of Snap Fitness in Detroit Lakes in November 2019, three months before the COVID-19 pandemic closed down health clubs and fitness centers across the world.
In 2021, Strand relocated Snap Fitness from the McKinley Plaza in Detroit Lakes to the old Sears location next to the Boys and Girls Club Thrift Store off Highway 10 West, with the club reopening that December.
“In 2020 Robert had to make a decision to either close his gym business permanently or double down and move locations,” Snap Fitness business coach Kelli Nadeau wrote on Facebook. “That decision paid off…what a blessing it is to be your business coach with Snap Fitness.”
