VERNDALE, MN (KDLM) – Fire crews were called to RJ Horse Sales in Verndale early yesterday morning.
Fire crews were called to the business at 4:15 am yesterday. Upon arrival, they found the south building had flames coming through the roof.
There were 20 horses in barns at RJ Horse Sales. None were injured.
Fire departments from Verndale, Staples, Wadena, Sebeka, Bertha, and Hewitt were on the scene.
This is the second fire at RJ Horse Sales. In December 2008, 40 horses died in an early morning barn fire as the business was preparing for a weekend team horse show.
