Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
One person is dead after two semi trucks crashed on westbound Interstate 94 near Mapleton on Wednesday afternoon. It happened after 1:30. One of the drivers was unable to escape the fire that started following the crash and died. One of the trucks hauling around 7,500 gallons of airplane deicer that began leaking and was still leaking into the evening hours. An environmental team is assisting in cleaning the spill, however there is no danger from inhaling the deicer. The eastbound lanes of I-94 were closed for about an hour following the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
