ALEXANDRIA, MN (KDLM) -Minnesota State Senator Torrey Westrom was hospitalized Sunday after a snowmobile accident.
Senator Westrom of Alexandria was a passenger on the machine, driven by a 13-year-old family member, when it crashed into “an ice chunk left from a fish house,” according to a statement from the family. Westrom fell off the sled. He was checked by first responders and then taken to a hospital for observation.
The crash reportedly happened on the north end of Lake Ida, near Alexandria.
The teen has taken and passed the Youth Snowmobile Safety certification. He was not hurt.
