(KDLM) – Lend A Hand Up is preparing to receive its largest proceeds check ever on Wednesday evening.
Stick it to Cancer is an annual fundraiser hosted by high school hockey teams in the Fargo-Moorhead area to raise help for local families facing cancer and other serious health issues. 100% of the proceeds are donated to Lend A Hand Up which gains a 50% match from the Dakota Medical Foundation. All funds are distributed to local families through Lend A Hand Up.
This year, the 12th annual tournament was held on January 19th at the Scheels arena.
Through the past 11 years, more than half a million dollars has been raised through Stick it to Cancer through the sale of hockey t-shirts, miracle moment donations, bake sales, and auctions with DMF matching funds.
Representatives from DMF and Stick It To Cancer will present Lend A Hand Up with the check at Fargo North Coliseum at 4:30 on Wednesday evening.
