Detroit Lakes Boys Hockey Gets #3 Seed in Section 8A Tournament

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – For the second-consecutive year, the Detroit Lakes Boys Hockey team will be the #3-seed in the Section 8A Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, February 21st.

The MidState Conference Champion Lakers are 16-6-1 (6-2-1 in section) this season with one game remaining.

Just like last year, the Lakers will open the tournament against #6 Kittson County Central (13-9-1). The Lakers survived the Bearcats in last year’s section quarterfinals 4-2.

The Lakers met KCC once this season, beating the Bearcats up in Hallock 4-3 in overtime back on December 3rd.

Detroit Lakes Boys hockey has been given the 3-seed for the upcoming Section 8A tournament. They’ll face KCC at the Kent Freeman Arena on February 23rd. @DLtribSports @dlhshockey @DetLakesHigh

The Lakers final regular season game is Thursday night in Breezy Point taking on Northern Lakes.

February 23rd Quarterfinals: #1 Warroad vs winner of #8/#9, #2 East Grand Forks vs winner of #7/#10, #3 Detroit Lakes vs #6 Kittson County Central, #4 Thief River Falls vs #5 Red Lake Falls

February 25th: Section 8A semifinals in Thief River Falls

March 2nd: Section 8A finals in Thief River Falls
