FARGO, ND (KDLM) – The NDSU Bison football team added four transfers and six high school commits to their 2023-24 roster on Wednesday, including former Barnesville Trojan star Hunter Zenzen.

Zenzen started his collegiate career as a linebacker at Iowa State, but transitioned into a defensive end in his sophomore season. Zenzen played primarily on special teams for the Cyclones last season before announcing his decision to transfer. He finished his Iowa State career with six tackles and a fumble recovery, while also receiving All-Big 12 Academic Honors last season.

Zenzen was a three-star recruit out of Barnesville in 2019 where he was a three-time all-district choice and two-time Midwest District Defensive MVP, and was a finalist for the Mr. Football Award.

Zenzen now joins his younger brother, Kaden, on the Bison. Kaden will be a redshirt freshman tight end next season.

Hunter has two years of NCAA eligibility remaining.

Added Transfers: OL Isaac Zatechka (from Missouri), LB Marcus Gulley (from MSUM), CB Marcus Sheppard (from Bowling Green),

High School Commitments: CB Termaine Turner (Lake Gibson, FL), TE Dylan Klancher (Crosby, MN), OL AJ Heins (New Salem, ND), LB Carter Kriewaldt (Freedom, WI), Brady Wavrunek (Sioux City, IA), K Eli Ozick (Liberty, MO)
