PERHAM, MN (KDLM) – The Perham Area Community Center, which has been undergoing renovations and additions since March 2021, is now fully open and features a few new offerings.
The new second-floor workout area, called the Elevator Room because it’s easily accessible via elevator for senior citizens, features brand-new cardio equipment. New bathrooms have also been added to the second floor. A new fitness studio and private consultation room have also been added. The center is enrolled with Silver Sneakers, Silver and Fit, and the Renew Active Medicare fitness programs.
The expanded second floor also features a three-lane track and new treadmills.
The main level features new weights and free-weight machines. The basketball court received a new coat of paint and flooring.
Another new feature at the PACC is the new Adventure Land kids area, featuring a multi-level play area.
Members drove much of the exciting PACC expansion project. According to Nick Murdock, Economic Development Director for Perham, a survey went out asking for guidance on membership priorities. PACC staff and the board of directors then accessed funding sources to make the project happen.
