Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Dance team will host the Laker Dance Show at 7:00 pm at the Lakeshirts Fieldhouse on Monday night (January 16th).
“It’s a fundraiser for Laker Dance,” said head coach Britton Ramsey. “We’ll have all the area studios in town participating, we’ll have some of our guy friends join us for a dance, too. We have 12 DLHS boys that will join us for the first performance after intermission.”
The show will feature the Laker Varsity and Junior Varsity dance teams, as well as solo and ensemble performances from Summit, Center Stage, and Just For Kix.
“It’s a great opportunity to support Laker Dance and the other studios in town,” said Ramsey.. “It’s also an opportunity for Laker Dance to support all the studios in town that our dancers typically train at. Those studios are just getting ready to start their competition seasons, while we’re winding ours down so this is usually their first performance of their routines. Every one of our kids dances with one of the studios in town so it’s a fun night of camaraderie as a dance community.”
Proceeds from the performance will go towards dance uniforms and travel expenses.
The doors open at 6:30, and the show begins at 6:55. Adult tickets are $7, and student tickets are $5. As this is a fundraising event, Laker Athletic passes will not be accepted.
