DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – A storm system packing snow, ice and rain has arrived in Minnesota and is moving from the southwest to the northeast. Light snow, rain and mixed precipitation began falling Tuesday morning in the southwest and parts of western Minnesota.
“The other story is actually going to be the gusty winds especially across southern and southeastern Minnesota. That’s where we’re going to see some stronger wind speeds, possibly gusts up to 45 to 50 miles an hour,” said Meteorologist Melissa Dyewith the National Weather Service.
Southern and northwestern Minnesota are under a winter weather advisory. A winter storm warning is posted for parts of central and northern Minnesota. The North Shore could see double-digit snowfall as well.
