DETROIT LAKES, MN (KDLM) – Detroit Lakes senior Jerzie Horner posted her highest score of the season as the Laker Gymnastics team beat Perham for the second time in 10 days last night at the Minnesota Flyers Gymnasium 141.25-132.8.
The Lakers scored a season-high 141.25, despite senior Gabby Whitworth being out of the lineup last night.
Horner scored an all-around score of 37.3. She won the beam (9.55) and uneven bars (9.05) and placed second in the vault (9.5) and floor routine (9.2).
Elsie Ratz also competed in all four events last night, posting an all-around score of 35.35. Ratz won the floor routine (9.25), and placed third in the vault (9.25) and beam (8.7). Kate Taves scored a 34.075 in the all-around, which was the fourth-best score on the night.
Perham’s Avery McAlister was second in the all-around last night with a score of 35.8. She took first in the vault (9.7), second on the beam (9.2), third on the floor (9.15), and seventh on the bars (7.75). Teammate Elise Reuter finished fifth in the all-around with a score of 29.95.
The Lakers travel to Brainerd this Saturday for an invite against Lakeville North, Lakeville South, Moorhead, Brainerd, Melrose, Big Lake, and Owatonna.
Perham will host Bemidji on Thursday.
