Laker Swim and Dive Opens Season with Second Place Finish At Otter Invite

FERGUS FALLS, MN (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Swim and Dive team opened their season with a second-place finish at the Otter Invite in Fergus Falls.

Gregory Simons placed first in the diving portion of the meet as the Lakers took four of the top six spots: Simons, Lucas Lundberg (third), Neil Trowbridge (fifth), and Lane Yliniemi (sixth).

Ryan Erickson won the 100-individual medley with a time of 1:03.94 and placed second in the 50 butterfly by only .2 seconds (28.46). Erickson, Brian Morrison, Zane Roberts and Micah Barberg also finished second in the 200 free (1:43.71). Roberts also took second in the 100 beaststroke (1:14.05) and fourth in the 50 free (26.40).

The Lakers will host Perham and Park Rapids at the DLCCC on Tuesday, December 13th at 6:00.
