
Becker County Museum demolition, Nov. 11, 2022
DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The “old” Becker County Museum in Detroit Lakes was torn down, Wednesday morning.
The Museum is being replaced with a new 30,000 square foot building at a cost of $6.4 million.
“This project is a decade or more old, it’s a long time coming for this community. It will bring to this region not only a history component, but hands on learning. It’s going to open so many doors,” said Becky Mitchell Executive Director of the Becker County Museum in an interview last year.
Construction on the new facility has been underway for months and the new Museum is tentatively set to open in early 2023.
