MAHNOMEN (KDLM) – After a lengthy delay, the Twin Lakes Creek bridge along Highway 200 has reopened for traffic.
The bridge replacement was originally scheduled to start in mid-May, but was delayed due to high water levels, then delayed again in August due to material delays causing Highway 200 to remain closed between Mahnomen and Roy Lake throughout the summer.
In addition to the bridge replacement, the project also included shoulder widening, pavement repairs, culvert replacements, turn lanes, and other safety and pedestrian accessibility improvements.
Drivers are encouraged to watch for workers along the roadside between Mahnomen and Roy Lake with occasional lane closures over the next several weeks, as shoulder widening and cleanup work continue.
Crews will wrap up construction for the season over the next two weeks and return in the spring to widen the shoulder east of Mahnomen, additional embankment work near Roy Lake and culvert replacement at Beatty Creek.
