31st Annual Roses for Rotary Returns to Detroit Lakes

Nov 2, 2022 | 1:56 PM

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary will host their 31st Roses for Rotary Rose Sale this week.

Conceived in 1993, the sale of roses was initially designed to offer hunters an opportunity to buy roses for their significant others while they were away hunting. Today, the annual fundraiser has evolved into the second largest fundraiser for the organization with support from hunters and non-hunters, alike.

“Everything we make is given back to the community…we have a great community and it’s because people volunteer to give back,” said Ron Zeman who helps organize the event each year.

Roses will be available, Nov. 3-5, while supplies last for $20 per dozen. Tickets can be purchased in advance from a Breakfast Rotary member, or during the sale at DL Floral in the Washington Square Mall, Bergens or the North Shore Travel Plaza.

Proceeds benefit local community projects throughout the Lakes Area.
