Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Best-selling author Allen Eskens was all set for a book signing at Bluebird Books in Detroit Lakes on Friday, but had to cancel the event due to an illness.
Eskens recently released his eighth book, Forsaken Country, which is a mystery/thriller that takes place in the Boundary Waters.
“It looks really exciting,” says Bluebird Books owner Amy Erickson. “It’s a suspenseful thriller about a kidnapped boy and the men desperate to find him. The kidnapper disappears into the Boundary Waters, so readers will get a little bit of that outer Minnesota flavor.”
Bluebird Books does have copies of Forsaken Country in stock. They’re working on rescheduling a book signing with Eskens once he’s feeling better.
Eskens is an award-winning author and has a journalism degree from the University of Minnesota and a law degree from Hamline University. After law school, he studied creative writing at Minnesota State University-Mankato, the Loft Literary Center, and the Iowa Summer Writer’s Festival. He now lives with his wife, Joely, in greater Minnesota where he recently retired after practicing criminal law for 25 years.
