Perham Basketball Coach Dave Cresap Inducted Into MN Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame

(KDLM/KPRW) –  Dave Cresap, who has been the head coach at Perham High School for the last 27 seasons, was one of six inductees into the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Cresap has been a basketball coach for 36 seasons, 27 of those in Perham. He has led the Yellowjackets to 644 wins during that period. He has coached Perham to five Class AA Tournament appearances and a Class AA Championship in 2011. Cresap was named the 2021-22 Section 8AA Coach of the Year last winter…the seventh time he has received that honor. He is a two-time State Coach of the Year in Minnesota and has been named the National Coach of the Year. Cresap was also inducted into the Valley City State University Coaches Hall of Fame this past June.

Cresap is one of six members of the 2022 Hall of Fame class which also includes Dick Ghizoni of St. Agnes/Hill Murray, Grant Guzy of Spring Lake Park, Peter Petrich or Red Wing, Vern Simmons of St. Paul Johnson, and Jeff Wall, who has coached at Anoka, Maranatha Academy and Irondale.
