Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA) announced their 2022 All-State team today, and Detroit Lakes midfielder/defender Avery Young became the second Laker in program history to make the team.
Young finished the 2022 season with 22 goals and 12 assists in 1,097 minutes. He also played full-time defender for two games early in the season as the Lakers finished the regular season 11-5, including 8-0 in Lakes to Prairie Conference play.
Young becomes the second player in program history to be named to the MSHSSCA All-State Team, and the first since G Connor Johnson in 2014.
