Section Soccer Playoff Seeding Announced; Laker Boys Get Home Playoff Game vs Rocori

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – After putting together an 11-5 (4-3 section) season, the Detroit Lakes Laker boys soccer team has earned the #4-seed in the 2022 Section 8AA playoffs and will host #5 Rocori at Rotary Soccer Park on Thursday.

The Laker girls earned the #5-seed in their section playoff and will travel to #4 Little Falls on Wednesday. The Laker girls finished their season 6-10 (2-5 section). Detroit Lakes lost to Little Falls 7-0 in the opening game of the season.

St. Cloud Apollo is the top seed in the boys’ section tournament with an 11-3-1 (6-0-1) record. They’ll take on #8 East Grand Forks. #2 Alexandria will face #7 Sauk-Rapids Rice. St. Cloud Tech is the three-seed and will face #6 Little Falls. Detroit Lakes and ROCORI haven’t faced each other this season. The winner of Detroit Lakes v Rocori will take on the winner of Apollo vs East Grand Forks.

13-2 (8-1 section) Alexandria is the top seed in the girls’ tournament and will face #8 Rocori at 7:00 on Wednesday. #2 East Grand Forks plays #7 St. Cloud Apollo, and #3 St. Cloud Tech will play #6 Sauk Rapids-Rice. The Lakers and Flyers will play at 4:00 on Wednesday. The winner of Detroit Lakes v Little Falls will face the winner of Alexandria v Roroci in the semifinals.
