DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Lakes Area residents and vacationers will have the opportunity to learn about and even ride and drive an Electric Vehicle (EV) during the newly announced Lakes Area EV Event.
The event, which will be held at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes on October 15 is being hosted by regional public utilities including Detroit Lakes Public Utilities, Lake Region Electric Coop, Ottertail Power, and Wild Rice Electric. The Izaak Walton League of America – Prairie Woods Chapter and West Central Climate Action are also supporting the event.
Anyone interested in learning about the benefits and performance of an EV will be able to test drive various models for free from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in a non-sale, no-pressure setting.
There will also be 10-15 EVs on site for people to view, sit in, and talk with the owners. Paul Douglas: meteorologist, author, and entrepreneur, will be the Keynote Speaker for the event. He will begin his presentation at 11:00 a.m. inside First Lutheran Church.
There will also be kids’ activities, live music, electric bikes, and tool demonstrations.
