Perham Cross Country Sweeps Dragon Twilight Invitational in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, MN (KDLM/KPRW) – The Perham varsity cross country teams swept the Dragon Twilight Invitational at Bluestem in Moorhead on Friday night with the boys defeating the #1 team in Class A Park Rapids, and the girls finishing eight points ahead of the #1 team in Class A and defending State champion Staples-Motley.

Sophomore Bjorn Anderson won the boys race with a time of 16:04.69…17 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Senior Micah Thompson finished sixth (16:30.31), freshman Caden Doll finished 15th overall (16:40.75) and junior Caden Doll finished 17th (16:42.68) as Perham finished with team total of 61 points to win the meet.

Freshman Gracie Morris paced the girls team with a fifth-place finish with a time of 19:16.07. Senior Maya Morris was 11th overall (19:57.23) and eighth-grader Ella Hendrickson finished 17th with a time of 20:09.16 as Perham won the meet with a team score of 61 points…only seven points ahead of Staples-Motley. Nevis’ Jade Rypkema won the girls race with a time of 17:31.50.

Perham’s next race will be at the Lucky Lindy Invitational in Little Falls on Thursday, September 15th.
