BEMIDJI (KDLM) – A Bemidji man is turning to the community to help a first responder in the rally racing community.
Paul Ahles has provided vital rescue rolls and EMS help for rally racing in Minnesota and Michigan for 30+ years. On Sunday, Paul was wrapping up his 6th day volunteering for the Ojibwe Forest Rally in Northern Minnesota. He was heading out and moved to the side of the narrow road to let a car pass . As he waited, the road beneath the truck gave away causing Paul and his vehicle to roll down a deep ditch.
“Paul has spent many years of his time and own money volunteering in many aspects. This is a great opportunity to show appreciation for his dedication and years of service,” Fundraiser organizer Brandon Winger said.
So far, more than $9000 has been raised to help replace the truck.
