DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day returns today at area Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill locations.
Participating locations will donate $1 or more of the proceeds from the day’s Blizzard® sales to Children’s Miracle Network benefiting Sanford Children’s.
Participating Miracle Treat Day locations in the Lakes Area include Dairy Queen in Detroit Lakes, Hawley and Perham. The Detroit Lakes Dairy Queen plans to donate $2 for every blizzard sold.
“All the money that we raise in this area goes straight to the Fargo children’s hospital at Sanford; it’s really important to get them donations because the work they do is very very important,” said Lee Kensinger owner of the Detroit Lakes Dairy Queen. “Children can’t fit in an adult bed, the needles can’t be used for an adult on a kid and there are so many things that they specialize in, it’s a great resource for us to have in this area.”
Since 1984, Dairy Queen has raised more than $72 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through fundraising efforts including Miracle Treat Day, the Miracle Balloon campaign and other local initiatives.
