FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) The Fargodome Authority has voted to approve beer sales on a trial basis at NDSU football games starting this fall.

Both sides still have to sign off on the revised lease agreement before it is a done deal. That’sexpected in a couple of weeks.

Fargodome staff will need to make sure workers selling beer are of legal age and are in compliance with City of Fargo server training and alcohol laws.

NDSU President David Cook, in a recent KFGO interview, said he supports the change. He said, “we have to be cautious and thoughtful, we brought in student government to ask them questions about what’s the best way to move forward with this..what’s the safest and still appreciate the whole fan experience and do what’s right for the product on the field.”

Fargodome general manager Rob Sobolik has said there have been changes in college athletics, including the Missouri Valley football conference which NDSU plays in.

That led to positive conversations over the past several years with the Fargodome Authority and NDSU regarding beer sales at the football games.
