
11th hole at Detroit Country Club damaged by vandals, July 16, 2022
DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Detroit Country Club is asking the public to help identify the person or persons responsible for a vandalism incident at the course.
The club says on Saturday, July 16 it was discovered the green on the 11th hole was damaged with large segments of sod punctured and torn up.
The Detroit Country Club is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of people who vandalized the green.
Repairs on a damaged golf course green can take four to five weeks before the damaged areas are able to tolerate normal traffic according to the USGA.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Detroit Country Club or the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.
