Two Injured after Car Driven by Teenager Crashes into Restaurant in Dorset

DORSET (KDLM) – The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle driven by a juvenile that crashed into a restaurant injuring two patrons.

The crash happened on June 25, shortly after 12 p.m. at the Dorset House Restaurant. An investigation determined that a 15-year-old was attempting to park a 2014 Dodge Caravan when she accidentally hit the accelerator rather than the brake.

The vehicle accelerated ahead and struck the side of the occupied restaurant. The driver was not injured but two patrons inside the restaurant received head, leg, and chest injuries when the vehicle came through the wall they were sitting next to.

Both patrons were transported to St Josephs Hospital in Park Rapids by private vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office.
