Man Escapes from Becker County Courthouse After Being Sentenced to 20 Months in Prison

UPDATED: 11:45 p.m. – The Becker County Sheriff’s Office says they have captured Alexander Robare and he is in custody after he escaped Wednesday afternoon. More details to follow.

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Detroit Lakes Police and the Becker County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a man who fled following a court appearance at the Becker County Courthouse, Wednesday.

Alexander Robare, 25, fled the court house after being sentenced to 20 months in prison on a separate escape charge where he was being sentenced for a May 2021 felony escape attempt in which he cut off his ankle monitoring device while on home confinement in Audubon.

Robare is described as a white male, approximately 6’1″, 182 lbs, wearing gray cut off t-shirt, denim shorts and black socks and shoes.
