(KDLM/MNN) – It’s going to be a busy weekend at Minnesota State Parks this “Fourth of July” holiday weekend.
The DNR’s Sara Berhow says there are more than 4,500 campsites across the state park system and currently only around 400 open reservations, “Some of the parks that have the most campsites open would be Camden State Park, Kilen Woods, Lake Bronson, Myre-Big Big Island State Park, and a Zippel Bay.”
Berhow says last minute camp goers should keep checking because cancellations do happen and the DNR’s online reservation system has a “Notify Me” feature so if there’s a park that someone really wants to go to but it’s full right now you can sign up to be notified if there’s a cancellation that opens up a campsite there.
