Perham’s Mallory Belka wins second-consecutive Class AA championship, Marcus Belka finishes third

(KDLM/KPRW) – Perham senior Mallory Belka finished her high school golf career with a second-consecutive Class AA State Championship at The Ridges At Sand Creek in Jordan on Wednesday.

Class AA only played nine holes on Wednesday, with Belka carding a +2 38 on the back nine for a 27-hole total of 114, three shots ahead of Ella Matzke of Lake City. Anna Eckmann of Park Rapids took third place with a 27-hole  total of 119.

The Fergus Falls Otters girls golf team finished as Class AA runner-up with a 530. Lake City won their second-straight state championship with a 491.

Marcus Belka finished tied for third in the Boys Class AA championship with a two-day total of 145, three shots behind St. Croix Lutheran Academy’s Sam Udovich for the state championship. Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa won their first-ever state team title with a score of 616, four strokes ahead of Holy Family Catholic.

In Class A, the Fertile-Beltrami boys golf team won their second-straight state championship with 632, 30 strokes ahead of Marshall School Duluth. Rylin Petry finished in second place, one stroke away from winning his second-straight individual state championship for the Falcons with a 147. Trevor Swonger of Underwood and Tony Carlin finished tied for fifth place with a two-day score of 154.

The Fertile-Beltrami girls team finished in sixth place with a score of 828. Legacy Christian Academy of Woodbury won the state championship with a 716. Adysen Tysdal of Ottertail Central finished in a four-way tie for fourth place at the state meet with a two-day score of 174.

In Class AAA, Detroit Lakes senior McKenna Mallow finished tied for fourth place with a two-day total of 145. After finishing two-under on Day One, Mallow shot a +3 75 on day two. Hanna Knoop finished the tournament in a tie for 40th place with a 168. Kathryn VanArragon of Blaine shot a 65-70-135 to finish nine-under-par for the tournament. The Alexandria Girls team won their second-straight Class AAA title. Edina won the Class AAA crown for the boys.
