Perham’s Marcus Belka Tied For Fifth After First Day Of State Golf Tournament

(KDLM) – Perham senior Marcus Belka shot a +3 75 on Day One of the Class AA State Golf Tournament at The Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan on Tuesday morning, four shots off the leaders at the state tournament.

The Section 8AA medalist shot +3 on the front nine, then shot even-par on the back with two birdies and two bogies. Jacob Ferrin of Southwest Christian and Sam Udovich of St. Croix Lutheran Academy are tied at -1 for the tournament lead. Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa (+21) leads Totino-Grace by 11 shots for the team lead.

In Class A, the Fertile-Beltrami Falcons boys golf (+35) team have a ten-stroke lead over Marshall School Duluth for first place at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker. Senior Rylin Petry paced the Falcons with a +3 75 today, which ties him for second place overall. Noah Schullard-Bender of Marshall School Duluth and Cole Withrow of New Life Academy of Woodbury lead the field with a +1.

Edina leads the Class AAA State Tournament at Bunker Hills by three strokes over Spring Lake Park. The Hornets shot +10 as a team on Tuesday. Edina’s Jack Wetzel and Northfield’s Nate Stevens both shot -2 to lead the field.

Day Two of all three tournaments tee off at 7:30 on Wednesday morning.
