ALBERTVILLE, MN (KDLM) – The 2022 Track and Field season officially wrapped up for Detroit Lakes at the Class AA State Finals at St. Michael-Albertville High School on Saturday with two podium finishes.
The Laker 4×100 team qualified for the State finals after finishing in seventh place during Friday’s prelims with a time of 43.39. In Saturday’s finals, the team of Cameron Marxen, Mason Carrier, Hunter Zempel, and Ethan Carrier placed eighth with a time of 43.63. Hill-Murray won the state championship with a time of42.36.
Section 8AA Pole Vault Champion Jerzie Horner finished tied for eighth place at state with a vault of 09-06.00.
Brandton Marsh, who finished as the section runner-up in the Long Jump, finished 14th at state with a jump of 19-04.50.
