ST. PAUL (KDLM/MNN) – Wednesday, June 8 is the opening date and Minnesota’s front-line workers then have 45 days to apply for COVID bonuses approved by the legislature following nearly a year of political wrangling.
State Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Steve Grove is urging workers to visit frontlinepay.mn.gov to get questions answered, and then apply for the bonus beginning Wednesday. “If you qualify, you will get a check — and we hope it’s a big one… but at least it’s symbolic in some ways of the hard work the front-line workers did during the pandemic.”
After the application window closes, the 500 million dollars authorized by the legislature will be evenly divided, with each eligible applicant receiving an equal payment not to exceed $1,500. If all of the estimated 667,000 qualified workers apply for the bonus, each would receive a $750 check.
