DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Crews will begin the Twin Lakes Creek bridge replacement on Highway 200 this week.
MnDOT says the roadway will be impassable at the bridge to all traffic beginning this Thursday through August. Highway 200 remains closed between mahnomen and Roy Lake for road construction, however traffic is being detroured to Highway 59, Highway 113 and County Road 39.
The bridge replacement was originally scheduled to start in mid-May, but was delayed due to high water levels. During the bridge replacement, local traffic – Highway 200 residents or others who have a destination within the work zone – will need to take the detour or find an alternate route around the bridge.
In addition to the bridge replacement, the project also includes shoulder widening, pavement repairs, culvert replacements, turn lanes, and other safety and pedestrian accessibility improvements.
