Laker Girls Golf Tied For Second After Day One Of Section Tournament; Mallow Atop The Leaderboard

COLD SPRING, MN (KDLM) – Day One of the Section 8AAA Girls Golf tournament at Rich Spring Golf Club is in the books, and the Detroit Lakers are tied for second place overall, tied with Alexandria with a 338 and seven shots behind Brainerd’s 331.

Senior McKenna Mallow +4 (76) this afternoon and Brainerd’s Katie Foley by two shots heading into Day Two of the tournament. Mallow was +4 on the front but finished even-par on the back. Sophomore Laura Syltie is three shots behind Mallow with a 79, which puts her in third place overall.

The second day of the tournament tees off at noon on Wednesday. The top team goes to State, as do the top five individual golfers not on the section championship team.
