Fourth grader Ben Honrud trying on LREC’s safety equipment
PELICAN RAPIDS (KDLM) – Pelican Rapids students visited Lake Region Electric Cooperative (LREC) recently to learn about electrical safety, safety gear and how an electric cooperative works.
Fourth grade students were led throughout LREC’s building, visiting the dispatch center and the warehouse.
“Whenever we get the chance to educate younger people about electricity, we take that opportunity,” says Paul Bergren, LREC’s superintendent. “By educating our youth, we take a proactive step in showing others how to be safe around electricity.”
This is one of several educational opportunities LREC has participated in throughout the Lakes Area this year.
