
Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Laker Golf Teams’ longstanding dominance of the MidState Conference continued on Monday, with the girls team winning their 12th straight conference title and the boys winning their 28th.
Hanna Knoop finished three shots off the lead at the MidState Conference meet on Monday, carding an 80 for second place overall. Park Rapids golfer Anna Eckmann was the individual conference champion with a 77.
McKenna Mallow shot an 84, Laura Syltie turned in a 90, and Sydney Miller shot a 91. Knoop, Mallow, and Syltie were named to the All-Conference team, and Miller was named Conference Honorable Mention.

On the boys side, Nick Tobkin was -1 at the turn and finished +3 on the day, one shot behind Staples-Motley’s Carter White for the individual win. Tyler Stensgard aced Hole 17 as the Lakers won their 27th-straight conference title with a seven-stroke victory. Lawsen Justesen shot a 78, Logan Schons finished with an 81, and Stensgard had an 82.

The Laker girls team is back in action on Wednesday, competing in a 10-team invite at Maddens Resort in Brainerd. The boys begin a two-day tournament at Headwaters Golf Course in Park Rapids on Friday.
