Laker Girls Golf Ties For Second in Minnewaska, Mallow and Knoop Tie For Second

MINNEWASKA, MN (KDLM) – The Laker girls golf team tied for second place at the Minnewaska-BBE Home Invite on Friday afternoon at the Par 72 Minnewaska Golf Club.

McKenna Mallow and Hanna Knoop tied for second place with a 78, one shot behind medalist Cora Larson of Alexandria. Mallow shot +4 on the front and +2 on the back, Knoop was +1 on the front and +5 on the back. Knoop had won back-to-back meets in Detroit Lakes and Moorhead before Friday’s second-place finish.

The Laker tied with Fergus Falls for second place with a 243, 20 shots behind reigning State Champion Alexandria (323) for first place.

Laura Syltie tied for 27th with a 93, and Maddie McDougall tied for 29th with a 94.

The Lakers next meet is Thursday, May 12th at St. Cloud Country Club. The Girls JV will golf at in invite at Wildflower on Tuesday.
