(KDLM) – Five years after being selected number one overall in the 2017  MLB Draft, the Twins top prospect Royce Lewis is getting called up to the big league club.

Multiple reports say that Lewis could make his major league at home tonight after shortstop Carlos Correa suffered a broken finger on his throwing hand after being hit by a pitch in Baltimore last night.

Lewis is batting .310/.430/.563 with 3 homers, 10 doubles, 1 triple, 17 walks, and 8 stolen bases in 24 games at Triple-A St. Paul this season and is ranked the 44th best prospect in baseball.

Prior to the 2020 season, he was ranked as the number one prospect in all of baseball before a lost minor league season due to COVID, and a torn ACL before the 2021 season wiped out two years of experience.
