ALEXANDRIA, MN (KDLM) – The Laker Track and Field teams traveled to Alexandria on Tuesday for the Alex Relays Invitational. The girls team finished third and the boys finished fifth out of six teams.
Ella Paulson, Jerzie Horner, Abby Larson, and Annie Paulson finished first in the 100-100-200-400m Sprint Relay with a time of 1:56.30.
Annie Paulson also won the 300m hurdles with a time of 48.97. Maddie Blahut finished tenth with a time of 55.45.
Morgan Hausten, Jade Adams-Tolbert, Haydon King, and Ella Paulson finished fifth in the 4×100 with a 56.44. In the 4×200, Morgan Hausten, Addison Lowell, Brooklyn Markuson, and Jerzie Horner finished 7th with a time of 1:58.77. The Laker 4×800 team of Amaya LeCleir, Helena Daggett, Sadie Johnson, and Lila Kallstrom finished fifth with a time of 11:09.27.
Lila Kallstrom, Ava Jones, Helena Daggett, and Sadie Johnson finished fifth in the 1200-400-800-1600 Distance Relay with a time of 15:22.43.
In the field events, Jacee Hauser finished second in the Shot Put (33-06.00) and third in the Discus (106-04). Brenna Skadsem finished sixth in the Shot Put (31.05.50), Lexi Gerdes was 14th (28-09.00), and Fallon Lowell (28-05.00), Elle Bettcher (27-11.00) and Jadyn Wimmer (27-08.50) finished 17th, 18th, and 19th.
Bettcher also finished 8th overall in the discus (94-08), Skadsem was 13th (84-06), and Wimmer finished 20th (78-05).
Grace Gunderson finished third in the high jump with a jump of 4-10.00. Lily Anderson and Rylee Johnson tied for fifth with jumps of 4-08.00. Addison Lowell tied for ninth with a 4-06.00. Mallory Fischer (4-04.00) finished 15th and Bettcher tied for 19th with a 4-02.00.
Haydon King placed ninth in the Long Jump with a 14-07.00, and Mallory Fischer placed 11th with a 14-04.00.
Lily Anderson was third in the Triple Jump with a 33-03.75 and Helena Daggett finished ninth with a 30-10.75.
Jerzie Horner won the Pole Vault with a vault of 9-03.00. Jordan Ehnert finished fourth with an 8-03.00, and Morgan Hausten finished 7th with a 7-09.00.
Alexandria won the meet with a 136.94. Detroit Lakes finished third with an 81.92.
On the boys side, Micah Barberg (5:32.09) and Gannon Braun (5:35.09) finished ninth and tenth in the 1600m. Zach Olson finished fourth in the 300m Hurdles with a time of 43.07. Olson, Anthony Reading, Brady Wirtz, and Alexander Fletcher took third in the 4x110m Shuttle Hurdles with a time of 1:14.41.
The Laker 4×100 relay team of Ethan Carrier, Mason Carrier, Cameron Marxen, and Hunter Zempel finished in second place with a time of 44.99, less than a tenth of a second behind winner Alexandria. The 4×200 team of Zempel, Chuck Kalina, Jack Pace, and Jamus Walz finished fifth with a time of 1:39.56. Ethan Carrier, Mason Carrier, Cameron Marxen, and Brandton Marsh finished seventh with a time of 1:41.13. The 4×400 team (Pace, M. Carrier, Olson, and Evan Thomas) finished fourth with a time of 4:07.71. Connor Jensen, Brayden Francis, Jackson Maasjo, and Xander Jessen took sixth place in the 4×800 relay with a time of 9:31.19.
Walz, Ethan Lundberg, Caden Strand, and Joe Skinner took sixth place in the 100-100-200-400 Spring Relays, and Jessen Francis, German Guzman, and Avery Browen took sixth in the 1200-400-800-1600m Distance Relay.
Charlie Zok took eleventh place in the shot put with a throw of 39-02.00, beating teammate Jacob Ehnert by two inches. (39-00.00). Ehnert finished 12th. Braydon Sjoblom finished 14th (37-09.00).
Lawson Greene placed tenth in the discus (114-03), with Ehnert placing 15th (108-02), and Sjoblom finishing tied for 18th (100-03).
Brandton Marsh placed second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 42-01.00, and Evan Thomas finished ninth with a 37-04.50. Caden Strand placed 12th with a 35-09.25.
Alexander Fletcher finished third in the High Jump (5-08.00). Evan Thomas and Lawson Greene tied for 10th (5-04.00). Fletcher also finished sixth in the Pole Vault (10-03.00) Coye Braten tied for 10th (8-03.00).
The Lakers scored a 47.94, which was good for fifth place. Alexandria won the meet with a 155.94.
Laker Track and Field will host their first meet of the season on Thursday at Mollberg Field at 4:00.
