Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) –
The Detroit Lakes softball team picked up win number one on the season and win number one for new head coach Sydney Prussia with a win over Perham on Monday.
Perham also won their first game of the season, taking game one of the doubleheader 10-7. The Lakers won the second game 12-9.
Emma Coley went 5-5 with two doubles in Game One, and Siri Vagle added four hits in five at-bats. Perham’s Ryleigh Mickelson had 5 RBI in the first game.
In Game two, the Lakers opened up a 9-2 lead with a big third inning: Ella Okeson had a two-run single and Rachel Kasowski had a two-run double in the inning. Megan Stalberger hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth.
The Lakers are now 1-3 on the season and will host Staples-Motley at Snappy Park this afternoon at 4:00.
