PERHAM (KDLM) – The 2022 Spring sports season finally got underway for the Hawley Nuggets and the Perham Yellowjackets Thursday afternoon at Al Krueger field in Perham.
In game one of the doubleheader, the Hawley Nuggets got a hit on the second pitch of the game by Ethan Ostrowski, who later put Hawley up 1-0, before the Yellowjackets offense got going, including scoring 8 in the bottom of the 4th inning, on their way to Perham’s 11-1 victory in five innings.
In game two of the day, Perham got a five inning Perfect game from Sophomore RHP Blaiz Schmidt. Perham’s offense kept scoring and the Yellowjackets picked up a 11-0 victory to open the season 2-0, Hawley falls to 0-2.
